It has been a very stressful week around here – nothing huge or terribly overwhelming, but one of those weeks where the whole things seems tied up in knots and you’re just trying to get through to the other side of it without accidentally hanging yourself. So it’s tricky to figure out things I’m grateful for other than the obvious food, health, love, home stuff.

This week I’m grateful for…

game night and a cook out with some fabulous new and old friends. Copious amounts of grilled meat was eaten and oodles of fun had. Oh, and a bit of ass kicking at Cranium. Kelly did a fabulous job acting out “hormone”. Yeah, go ahead and wrap your head around that for just a second.

delivering eensy weensy preemie diapers to our new twin client.

shaking things up on our diaper deliveries and having it go mostly smoothly.

Bub experiencing the joy of watching a freshly hatched monarch butterfly stretch her new wet wings and feeling her prickling little feet crawl all over his hand before watching her build up the courage to flap flap flap and fly away. I have much to be grateful for this week

~ a roof

~ a partner who doesn’t divorce me even though every single time we move I pack little to nothing and she packs most everything

~ friends who would let us stay with them for as long as it took us to find a place (I don’t think they quite knew what they were agreeing to, but that’s okay)

~ offers of help and support seeping in through the woodwork

~ the absence of ants in our apartment – and in the upstairs apartment (on one hand this is infuriating, but on the other hand, it just proves that knee-jerk spraying by the landlord would not have resolved the problem, it resolved on it’s own.)

~ Tig’s dad looking at her car only to discover that it was not the alternator, but just the belt needed tightening. And that her brakes and rotors are just fine, and fixing the squeeling by removing a little metal clip that had slipped and was rubbing. Thanks Bill!

~ saving $500+ by having her dad look at it rather than taking it to the shop tomorrow like we’d planned.

~ having our car ready to go for the new business (hint: we’re going to be delivering something)

~ looking forward to moving into our new space with only the teeniest, minute reservations (sun, sun, sun, coffee on the deck in the morning, open space, a dishwasher… I can’t wait)
